The experience of waiting for someone you love to return.

It was like parts of my life were on hold. Like the momentum of certain ideas and dreams had to be paused with no mention. It was a strange feeling. Like the Beyonce Lyrics “Tennis shoes, don't even need to buy a new dress. If you ain't there, ain't nobody else to impress” felt very appropriate as I walked through my life doing things I had before, like going to my favorite clothing store, but with no desire to shop. So instead of my usual routine I merely said hello, explained my reason for pause and left.
