THE ART OF GREATNESS
Every one of us has greatness inside just yearning to be expressed, noticed and then appreciated. Too often we take the lack of the latter as evidence to stop for former.
My biggest difficulty with Dad was his constant start & stop of projects, the initiatives that would always become the family’s emotional and logistical burden. But space and the passing of time has allowed me to view him more objectively. And whether we like it or not, we start to see our parents as individuals, with real feelings and anxieties and mistakes just like you.
It’s hard to imagine our parents having lives before us, but when you do, you start to see a method to the madness.
Among the chaos of my dad’s passing, I found items that led me to his greatness once again. Rediscovering my fathers love for photography is my way of showing the world his full potential and greatness, even after his passing. We shouldn’t fear expressing ourselves. Especially when the world is so much richer for our contribution.
